Spring must be here...

Spring must be here and a sure sign is the kowhai in flower and a tui marking out his trees.

A very friendly chap. We canget quite close before he flys off to his other kowhai on the property.

With the advent of settled weather, Glenn and I have been spending time outside sprucing up the gardens and pruning trees. The apple tree succumbed to a rather drastic manicure but we hope it will be frightened into providing a decent crop of apples. Compost bins have been emptied onto the various gardens and our large supply of worm wees has been liberally spread around plants.

I have even given the front lawn its first mow of the season.

The builder phoned today and has indicated he would like to start on the back of the house next week. Yeah!!

So things are moving.

Will post updates as things happen.

Enjoy the great weather

Great photo Peter - we've had Tuis in our Japanese Cherry tree for a while too - they are great to see and to hear singing!
