This is the start of a blog about wood fired ovens, pizza and artisan bread.
I have always had a penchant for cooking pizzas in a wood fired oven. I started making pizza for the family every Sunday night and this became a ritual for 14 years. I still make pizzas but I have also discovered the joy in baking truly enjoyable artisan bread. Kudos must go to Zoe and Jeff for this after I stumbled across this in my search for information about pizzas. A link to their website is found on the home page of this site.
Wood-fired ovens came into the fore as I looked for an outdoor activity that focussed on entertaining friends and include casual dining. As a result we anticipate having a wood fired oven up and running in 2 -3 weeks time. Again a link to the style of oven I have is found on the home page.
